What are Short Codes?*
"Short Codes and Alerts" is a feature included in certain rate plans designed to help you stay connected to your social communities, receive informational alerts and have immediate access to inquiries on-demand. The Short Codes feature further enhances the way you can receive information and makes your phone more useful. It also allows you to participate in popular programs and sign-up for selected content including news, sports, stocks, weather, personals, horoscopes, events, and more.
Short codes are easy to use and readily accessible. Some short codes, such as "Google", do not require signing-up, but may be used immediately by texting to the designated short code for information on-demand. Other short codes, such as MySpace alerts, require you to sign-up by providing your phone number and selecting desired alerts/notifications to receive information from the short code at regular intervals. The various ways to sign-up for specific alerts vary by short code and may include opting in via handset, web, or voice response process.
With this product, you will be able to enjoy a richer experience from your MetroPCS phone and receive even faster, more convenient connections to your favorite information spaces.

*Only listed short codes are supported. Short code list is subject to change. Use of short codes requires a rate plan of $45 or greater. "Premium" short codes are not included in a rate plan and require additional charges to be deducted from customer’s MetroConnect account.
